Stakeholder / Partnership Experience Sharing

Şahyar Sulama Kooperatifi

As a cooperative, prior to the Water Collective Action projects, we had already developed and successfully completed a project in cooperation with the project implementing team within the scope of the Water Replenishment Project as part of our work in the field of water management. This process enabled our Cooperative to gain significant experience in sustainable water management, coordination with local stakeholders, and field based implementations.

Within the scope of the GYSU Project, as the Şahyar Irrigation Cooperative, in addition to supporting training activities for producers, we will host one of the pilot production studies to be carried out by the Manisa Viticulture Research Institute in two separate locations. In the 3,000 m² pilot production area allocated, it is aimed to contribute to the testing, monitoring, and dissemination of good practices related to water and fertilizer management in the field.

The GYSU Project stands out for presenting a strong collaboration model in which productivity, water conservation, and environmental sustainability in viticulture are addressed together. We believe that sharing the results of the pilot production implementation will also provide an important foundation for long term efforts to increase the resilience of grape production in the region against water and climate related risks.
